As an artist and father, my latest study of Saint Josephine Bakhita holds deep meaning for me - being she is the namesake of our second daughter. In capturing young Josephine in a moment of prayer, still in the shadow of slavery yet seeking Christ, I wanted to honor her faith that transcends suffering and time. Through prayer, she receives the grace of hope for peace and unity with Jesus - hope -I pray, inspires my own children and all who encounter her story.
